Production Assisting Foundations

A comprehensive foundations pathway preparing you to excel as a reliable Production Assistant on professional sets. Master the essential protocols, on-set etiquette, and workflows required to support any department with confidence.
Program Overview
The Production Assistant Intensive is a four-week, in-person workforce training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level roles on professional film and media productions. The program focuses specifically on the Production Assistant role while providing structured exposure to the broader production process.
Participants build the foundational skills required to operate effectively on active sets, including communication protocols, chain of command, set etiquette, production logistics, and professional workflow standards. The program emphasizes reliability, accountability, and adaptability within fast-paced production environments.
Each week combines classroom instruction with applied exercises that simulate real production scenarios. Participants learn how to interpret call sheets, manage set operations support, coordinate movement and information flow, understand department structures, and assist with equipment logistics. Training is grounded in industry expectations and professional conduct standards used on working sets.
The in-person format allows for hands-on practice, direct feedback, and collaborative learning. Participants engage in live scenario drills, team-based exercises, and structured mentorship conversations designed to reinforce real-world readiness.
By the conclusion of the four weeks, participants will have developed a crew-ready professional profile centered on the Production Assistant role. Upon program completion, students leave with the operational awareness, discipline, and practical skills necessary to transition confidently into professional production environments.
